Daily Mail UK Publishes Fake Ghost Picture

Last week, the Daily Mail published an article titled “Does this spooky image show ghost boy watching builders demolish his old school?” According to the article, a man names John Forbes submitted it to them, insisting that the image was not there when he snapped the pic.

Now, to me, the image immediately looks fake. However, I did not see it until I knew it was a fake (so I could be biased). Yet, I’ve done enough image manipulation (I used to work as a graphics designer) to say it doesn’t look real. The edges are too crisp.

However, readers over at Ghost Theory found the original source of the image. It wasn’t some obscure photo, but rather a rather popular one. It was part of an iTunes application called Ghost Capture.

Can we all say oops? Or I guess we should say there truly is an app for everything on the iPhone.
